About

Journeying Together Towards Optimal Mental Health Wellness

As a licensed professional counselor- supervisor, board certified art therapist and spiritually integrated counselor, I welcome the opportunity to work with you and walk with you on your journey towards insight, reflection, self-understanding, and emotional healing. I obtained my Masters of Arts Degree in Art Therapy from Drexel University, my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision (within the department of pastoral counseling) from Loyola University Maryland, and currently am licensed as a professional counselor- supervisor in Texas. The use of art therapy allows for a creative way to express yourself, to perceive your concerns through a different lens, and to explore new ways of addressing life's problems. Spiritually integrated counseling offers the opportunity to integrate your spirituality (in the way that you define it) into therapy. For many people, spirituality is an active part of their lives and can be experienced as a support or struggle. As a spiritual person myself, I also understand the impact of spirituality, faith, and religion on one's healing journey. Our work together can include these approaches or be traditional talk therapy. I value your ability to choose whether you would like to include spirituality or art in counseling. I have worked with bereaved individuals and families working through their experience of loss, young adults and college students navigating the myriad of challenging choices ahead of them, and clients experiencing depression and anxiety, just to name a few. In addition to working with people experiencing a variety of life problems, I specialize in helping clients through issues of grief and loss, through the process of self-discovery, and also specialize in working with Black women. At present, I only offer teletherapy services on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings through the electronic platform of Simple Practice to persons residing in Texas. While I do not accept insurance, I do offer sliding scale fees. Feel free to reach out to me for a free initial virtual consultation to see if we might be a good fit. As an LPC-S and offer supervision for LPC-Associates in TX. If interested, contact me for details.
